Visit from the expert-assessor to your home

The expert's visit to your residence will cover several issues: access to the site, topographical assessment, dimensions, layout, delivery logistics, construction, installation, and timelines.

Your pool must comply with provincial and municipal regulations, be completely safe, and obtain the necessary permits.

With Patio Design, you will benefit from a one-stop shop to access the pool of your dreams and layouts that reflect your lifestyle, aspirations, and desired experience.

Construction Plans: In-Ground Pool

The creation of detailed professional plans including a site plan, a construction plan, and a landscaping plan will take place before the work begins.

This step will help you accurately determine the actual cost of your in-ground pool project. It is also necessary for obtaining mandatory permits.

Permits for In-Ground Pools

You will need to apply for a permit for an in-ground pool from your municipality's planning department. If necessary, we can carry out this step for you, for an additional fee.

Demolition

In some cases, we need to demolish certain structures: above-ground pool, shed, etc. This step requires skill and specific expertise to operate properly, in compliance with standards, the land, the neighborhood, and the upcoming steps.

Marking

Conducted on-site, the marking serves as a guide when welcoming the excavation team from Patio Design. This precision work delineates the location and shape of the pool in your yard. The underground services (wiring, piping, conduits) are indicated and marked on the ground, thus facilitating and securing the excavation work.

Excavation of the Inground Pool

Excavating a pool is a step as important as it is delicate. The soil may have certain constraints that require deploying the right means, at the right time, with the right tools. Patio Design has the equipment, machinery (diggers and trucks), and expertise to minimize its impact on the entirety of your property.

Excavation is a perilous exercise, and sometimes costly in case of bad encounters, for example with electrical or aqueduct networks. At the stage of the location request, prior to excavation, the Patio Design team works in collaboration with the Info-Excavation team. This non-profit organization is essential for properly handling requests for the location of underground infrastructure.

Plumbing

As the pool filtration and heating pipes are buried in the ground, we ensure the proper installation of connections to deliver optimal performance.

This includes the installation of the return nozzle, the surface skimmer, and certain connections with the pump and the filter. Also, the bottom drain, from where the pool water is sucked, towards the filter or to empty it. The circulation system of a pool requires filtration and sanitation to maintain water that is both clean and clear. Hence the importance of this delicate step.

Electricity and gas

An electrical line will connect your home to your pool. If you wish to connect a fireplace or a BBQ and have a natural gas connection, the Patio Design team will also facilitate this step. During this phase, an inspection of the electrical and gas work will validate the quality of the work.

Compaction

The installation of rock dust and the compaction of the soil serve to stabilize and solidify the ground before the construction of the inground pool. The right materials and the right equipment will make a difference.

Installation of Screw Piles

This complex operation requires high-level expertise. As a specialist in screw pile installation, the Patio Design team integrates robustness and unwavering resistance, including against the effects of winter. Your foundations will be stable, watertight, and free of cracks.

Deeply anchored in the ground, the screw piles for in-ground pools by Patio Design support the most ambitious projects.

Construction of a pool with insulating formwork

An ideal solution to combine quality and the ability to withstand Quebec winters, the insulating formwork pool by Patio Design comes with several steps:

  • Assemble the formwork walls
  • Pour concrete foundations, similar to building the foundations of a house.
  • Create the formwork for the steps and the bottom of the pool. The depth and curve of the bottom, as well as the quantity and size of the steps, will be your choice.
  • Take preliminary measurements before applying the liner on the steps, the bottom, and the walls of the pool. Again, this work requires great precision.

Pool Cover

Before the work begins, you will have the opportunity to discuss with your Patio Design representative to determine and then order the desired cover model. Its installation is delicate, particularly to avoid gaps, air bubbles, and punctured areas.

Landscaping and Finishing

While your pool is being excavated and built, teams are already at work to start the construction, coating, paving, landscaping, fence installation, and preparation work.

Everything is also planned to ensure a careful and efficient removal of equipment and teams. Our goal? For you to enjoy your pool as quickly as possible, without any other concerns than to indulge in a refreshing summer.
